ON THIS DAY IN TORY 2009
On this day in KISStory, October 6, 2009 - KISS released their SONIC BOOM album exclusively at Walmart. The album became KISS' highest charting US album ever, reaching #1 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums and #2 on Billboard Top 200.
SONIC BOOM was recorded at Conway Recording Studios in Hollywood, CA and produced by Paul Stanley.
The cover artwork was created by artist Michael Doret who also created the cover of KISS' Rock and Roll Over album.
SONIC BOOM was released exclusively in the US at Walmart in a three disc digipak, which included the new album, the album KISS Klassics (a completely re-recorded greatest hits), a six song live DVD recorded in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a 20 page booklet.
The album was also released on limited edition 180 gram vinyl exclusively on KISSOnline. It was pressed into five colors (red, green, black, blue and purple) with 1000 copies pressed of each.
